You guys, I can’t even pretend this is a recipe so I’m not going to act like it. I’m asking you to boil water and put tea bags in it. Why the post, you ask?
Back in Arizona there was a Starbucks in walking distance to my work. As if that wasn’t tempting enough there was a drive-thru Starbucks 1/4 mile down the street from my house, on the way to work. I think you know where I’m going with this. Every morning I would stop by either location and pick up my beloved Grande Iced Tea. Of course half of it was ice but I still loved it and needed it to start my morning off right. My morning tea equals your morning coffee. Am I making more sense now?
One of the baristas at Starbucks ran his own comedy show out of the location next to my work and I would go in just to see him and all of his shenanigans. Baristas, if you want to become my favorite….when I order an Oprah Chai Tea I need you to shout out, “YOU GET A CAR, YOU GET A CAR, YOU GET A CARRRRRR!” See why he was my favorite barista? Not only that but he knew where I worked and always had my tea ready to go as soon as I walked through the door so I didn’t have to wait through the morning rush. He also asked me out quite a few times but that’s besides the point.
One morning he tells me I’m crazy for spending so much money on their tea when I can do it at home. I knew they used Tazo tea but assumed crack was sprinkled in here and there to make it so good. Wrong. Iced. Tea. Concentrate.
Changed my life. I still went every single day but would occasionally make my own single batches at home. No longer! I went big this time with a massive batch of Starbucks Copycat Iced Tea Concentrate. Use your favorite tea, steep it in less water than you normally would, and add cold water and refrigerate it after that. Boom. Best. Thing. Ever.
The tea you see pictured is Tazo Green Tea but really my go-to for that morning pick-me-up is Tazo Awake. I’m actually sipping on said tea as I write this post as can be verified in my recent Instagram post. Do we follow each other on Instagram? If not tell me your Instagram name in the comments and I’ll follow asap!
That’s all for today folks! I promise I won’t be as MIA as I have been the past two weeks. 😉
