These grain free dog treats are packed with nutrients, high in protein, and easy to make at home. Filled with bananas and pumpkin your dog is bound to love them!
I think it is safe to say that Micah and I talk to Puma more than we do to real people. We often joke that if people really heard how we talk to Puma they would think we were insane. Really, we are, but in a completely normal way for two animal lovers to be. Now that I put that on the table I feel comfortable letting you know that we don’t call them treats. In this wolf-run house they’re called “treaties” and we wouldn’t have it any other way. But that is assuming Puma even looks at us when we say “treaties” because let’s be honest the only word she responds to (ever) is “pumpkin.” Seriously. It’s been that way since she was a puppy and I blame myself.
Starting at an early 8 weeks I immediately started Puma on a raw diet and began feeding her natural and organic treats like pumpkin puree, bananas, apples, coconut oil, carrots, sweet potatoes etc. She can’t get enough. Remember when I told you she ate an entire bag of sweet potatoes? She also ate an entire bundle of bananas, peel and all. Makes me so proud!
I actually made these dog treats to give as gifts at Christmas for Micah’s family. They all have miniature schnauzers, which is hilarious, and word is that the schnauzers devoured these treats. The best part about these treats is that they are packed with protein from the garbanzo beans and peanut butter. Nutrients are added in through the flax meal, bananas, and pumpkin, and cinnamon is just a bonus.
If you’re worried about these taking a lot of time, stop worrying. This is a one bowl type of recipe, doesn’t involve cookie cutters, and can be whipped together in minutes. Sure little bone shaped cookie cutters are adorable but is your fur baby really going to snub a treat of any shape? Didn’t think so.
The best part is that these are already pre-portioned. Using a tablespoon ice cream scoop makes your life so much easier and saves the mess.
The entire time I was shooting these photos this little baby was inches away from me.
Waiting for me to drop a bite.
Just look at that sass. She’s telling me to stop messing with her and drop it already.
There is a certain level of satisfaction seeing your fur child insanely happy and content. When something you made makes them that way it just melts my heart.
Have a great Thursday everyone!
