San Francisco Trip – Day 2

Wow, I did not expect to be posting Day 2 this far apart from Day 1.  I have been so busy since I returned from San Francisco that I have not had time to post.  I really haven’t had time for much at all besides work, school, and taming the wolf.  Taming the wolf is another full time job itself, whew!  Anyway, on with day two of my trip to San Francisco!

We slept in the next morning after our late night out on day 1.  We got ready and met a friend for lunch at my favorite dim sum restaurant, Yank Sing.  Seriously, if you want the most mind-blowing, dim sum experience of your life, go to Yank Sing.  I can not say enough amazing things about this place.  It is fresh, clean, and deeeeeelishious!

I was immediately served this delicious jasmine green tea:

And I started ordering for Micah because he was completely lost in the sea of dim sum.  For me I ordered:

Spinach dumplings

Big dish san francisco yank sing spinach dumbling 0413 l

Pea shoot dumplings

l

Green scallion cake

s

and Sesame Balls for dessert

Yank sing jin dui

We were SO full after Yank Sing and headed back to the hotel to get ready for Alcatraz Island.

For some odd reason my iPhone deleted tons of photos that I took so there are only a few left. :(

Alcatraz was SO much fun and extremely interesting.  We took the audio tour which I highly recommend to anyone that is visiting Alcatraz.

View of San Francisco from Alcatraz.  Extremely windy and beautiful outside.

Prison hat for the win!  Pretty fashion forward, eh?

The cutest photo of Micah and I :P

After Alcatraz we headed back to the hotel to relax before meeting a friend for dinner. We were still super full from lunch at Yank Sing but stuck it out and headed to Farmerbrown.

Drinks served in Mason jars, movies playing on a wide screen, and loud music.  Different set up but still a lot of fun and seemed like a place that locals loved.  Don’t head a block up from Farmerbrown or you will run into Bum-palooza.  Seriously, just don’t head that way.

Fresh bourbon iced tea was delicious.  We were exhausted after Farmerbrown and headed back to the hotel early.

  1. I love seeing all of the unique food that you tried in San Francisco. Alcatraz is somewhere that I have always wanted to visit. I’m a history nerd like that.
