10-minute Marinara Sauce makes it easy for anyone to throw together a quick and easy dinner with just a few basic pantry ingredients.
So, let me tell you how this recipe came to fruition.
Laziness? No, no. Unwillingness to go to the store for a handful of ingredients. So, I did something that I almost never do and that is make dinner with only the ingredients I had presently on hand. I knew that I had to use three cauliflower heads that were sitting in the refrigerator (don’t ask why I had three) and the only thing that popped into my mind was cauliflower flat bread.
Boom – Cauliflower flat bread with marinara. YUM! The cauliflower flat bread is a different post with a completely separate recipe, but for now let’s start with the sauce.
I opened up the pantry and found a large can of diced tomatoes to get the recipe going. I had half a white onion in the refrigerator that needed to be used so I grabbed that with garlic, LOTS of garlic.
Let’s talk about garlic for a second. So, I sort of have this, um, like, 4 clove minimum, for any recipe I create with garlic. Don’t judge. I mean, we’re talking about garlic here. It’s magical, sprinkle it everywhere you can in ample amounts.
Ok, back to the sauce. I grabbed a ton of herbs. I treat herbs like garlic. I prefer fresh, but I rolled with all dried this time around. Rough chop, sauté, blend all the ingredients and you’re done. Seriously, that’s it. Use it however you wish, throw it in the refrigerator for a rainy day, even give it away in jars as gifts. It is delicious, and no one will be able to tell this took you 10 minutes.
